A study of the territorial dispute between Japan and Korea over Liancourt Rocks, a small cluster of barren, rocky islets in the Sea of Japan that Japanese call Takeshima and Koreans call Dokdo.
I don't really care about those stupid islands, but a free trip seems tempting. So I'm going to head over to dokdotakeshima.com and dig up some stuff. I'll include some historical stuff and then flame the Japanese people, they'll love it. Then, I'll take a week vacation in Seoul with 4 of my friends, NOT go to islands, and throw the plaque in the trash.
I would love to go to Ulleungdo, but I have no desire to go to Liancourt Rocks. I do not understand why someone would want to make a 4-hour, round-trip sea voyage just to stand on a concrete pier and look around at seagull poop-covered rocks for an hour or so?
